Job Description

Job Title:
Design Engineer Job Description As a Design Engineer, you will analyze research data and product specifications to assess the technical feasibility of proposed designs. You will collaborate with research and engineering teams to clarify requirements and resolve design issues, developing product, system, or component designs based on analytical findings. Your role will include preparing or overseeing the creation of layouts, detailed drawings, schematics, and design documentation, as well as directing and coordinating the fabrication or construction of prototype products or systems. Responsibilities Plan, design, and execute experimental and validation test programs. Analyze test results and generate reports to verify compliance with functional and performance requirements. Recommend and implement design modifications based on test data and engineering feedback. Evaluate engineering test outcomes for potential application to new or existing systems. Utilize computer-aided engineering (CAE) and computer-aided design (CAD) tools to support design activities. Apply engineering principles, design standards, and quality practices throughout the development process. Communicate project progress, design changes, and technical findings to stakeholders. Support continuous improvement initiatives related to design quality, cost, and performance. Essential Skills Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical field, or equivalent combination of education and experience. 1-2 years of related engineering, design, or product development experience preferred. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex technical data. Proficiency with computer-aided design and engineering software tools. Demonstrated ability to develop and modify designs based on testing and performance requirements. Effective written and verbal communication skills for technical documentation and collaboration. Ability to work effectively in cross-functional team environments. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality and safety standards. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience with mechanical engineering, design, mechanical systems, Solidworks, drafting, and new product development. Work Environment Work in a collaborative, cross-functional team environment where quality and safety standards are prioritized. Utilize the latest computer-aided engineering and design software tools. Engage in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance design quality, cost, and performance. Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Jackson, MN. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $50.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
