Design Engineer

Design Engineer develops aviation door system designs, customer submittals, and production drawing packages using 3D CAD and engineering analysis. Job Requirements Bachelor's degree in Engineering, preferably Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechatronics, or related field Equivalent combination of education and experience considered 5+ years of engineering and design experience preferred Proficiency with 3D parametric CAD software such as SolidWorks, Inventor, or Creo Experience providing engineering analysis and reports Mathematical aptitude Ability to review architectural drawings, structural drawings, specifications, and sales orders to determine product requirements Ability to document engineering information and design requirements Ability to travel to project or test sites for 2-5 domestic field visits per year Preferred Skills SolidWorks experience Experience preparing fabrication drawing packages Experience processing engineering change orders Experience supporting manufacturing operations Experience developing custom engineered product solutions Experience with structural and mechanical analysis, including wind-load requirements Experience creating specifications, product data sheets, and installation or operation instructions Electrical experience Experience supporting R D and product development initiatives Job Responsibilities Create product models using SolidWorks 3D CAD software Develop designs from standard templates, historical models, or custom requirements Prepare submittal drawing packages for customer approval Generate production drawing packages for fabrication Process engineering change order requests Conduct engineering analysis to verify compliance with wind-load, mechanical, and structural design criteria Provide engineering support to operations during manufacturing Provide engineering support to sales teams and customers Perform daily inspections of products in fabrication Create support documentation including specifications, product data sheets, and installation and operation instructions Review sales orders, architectural drawings, structural drawings, and specifications to determine product requirements Support research and development and product development initiatives

Pay:
