JOB DESCRIPTION
: The primary focus of this role is to drive the modernization and recapitalization of existing manufacturing capabilities, oversee the implementation of new products and processes, and champion cost-saving initiatives. The ideal candidate will serve as the technical and management focal point for facility and process improvement projects, from concept and proposal through execution, ensuring the industrial base is optimized for current and future mission requirements.
JOB DUTIES
: The Senior Engineer will be responsible for a wide range of technical and management tasks with a primary focus on facility and process modernization:
Lead Industrial Base Facilitization:
Review, plan, and oversee efforts to recapitalize existing capabilities through modernization and the implementation of new products, equipment, and processes.
Develop and Champion Initiatives:
Develop, support, and implement cost-savings initiatives. Review project proposals and recommend candidate projects for Army or joint funding consideration.
Process Evaluation and Improvement:
Perform independent evaluations of technical or process problems impacting delivery or quality. Participate in root cause analyses and follow up on the implementation of corrective actions.
Program and Project Oversight:
Conduct planning, management, and oversight of all assigned program activities, preparing written assessments of project status.
Independent Assessments:
Provide independent assessments on the readiness of programs to proceed, including analysis of risks and the adequacy of the proposed approach.
Team Leadership:
Accomplish system integration and problem-solving by organizing, facilitating, and leading Integrated Product/Process Teams (IPTs).
Documentation and Reporting:
Participate in the development of Test and Evaluation Master Plans (TEMP), Performance Specifications (P-Spec), and other critical milestone documentation. Author and edit technical reports and briefings. Qualifications
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND CLEARANCE
: Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field and a minimum of ten (10) years of related experience.
Industrial Base Experience:
Extensive experience in reviewing and modernizing an industrial base, including facilitization, process improvement, and recapitalization efforts.
Project Management:
Proven experience in developing milestone documentation, test & evaluation, and performing root cause analyses.
Leadership:
Demonstrated ability to lead Integrated Product/Process Teams and provide independent assessments on program readiness and risk. Candidate must be a US citizen and be able to obtain a full DOD Secret security clearance. SAIC will sponsor qualified candidates for a security clearance.
