Job Description
Network Designer I North/South, MS Full-Time At MaxxSouth Broadband, we're committed to connecting people to what matters most—fast, reliable internet, advanced TV and voice services, and unwavering local customer care. The Network Designer I is responsible for supporting the planning, design, and quality control of coaxial and fiber optic network infrastructure. This role performs field route evaluations, prepares initial network designs, maintains design accuracy, and supports projects from concept through release. The Network Designer I also coordinates with internal teams, customers, and external partners to ensure project requirements are met on time and to company standards. This position service the entire MaxxSouth Broadband footprint including North and South Mississippi and Alabama.
What You'll Do:
Produce coaxial and fiber optic route designs using approved departmental tools and platforms. Perform route evaluations, field verifications, and initial design layouts, as well as conduct quality control checks on routes, designs, and design records. Maintain accurate design databases, maps, and supporting documentation. Assist with fiber capacity and availability evaluations during pre-design phases. Generate design support materials for permitting and pole application processes. Coordinate project timelines with customers and outside engineering firms. Support project handoff and provide ongoing assistance to office and field crews. Monitor and manage assigned projects to ensure deadlines and customer expectations are met. Prepare and deliver project reports as requested by management. Maintain the security and confidentiality of proprietary network data and documentation.What We're Looking For:
High School Diploma or equivalent- required 1-3 years of experience with network design and/or outside plant systems
- required Associate's degree or higher in a related field, or equivalent experience
- preferred Experience with Microsoft Office programs
- required. Experience with AutoCAD
- strongly preferred Communications network design experience
- preferred Working knowledge of coax, fiber, and network powering design practices
- strongly preferred Physical Demands Frequent sitting, standing, walking, driving, and use of hands; ability to see, hear, and communicate effectively in various work environments.
