Role OverviewWe are seeking an experienced and driven Technical Project Owner to join a growing team. This individual will be responsible for leading the delivery of one or more large-scale, technically complex projects, ensuring successful execution from initial kickoff through to completion and client handover.

The role requires a combination of strong technical knowledge, project leadership capability, and the ability to coordinate across multiple internal departments while maintaining close communication with clients.

Key ResponsibilitiesTake full ownership of one or two large, complex projects, ensuring successful delivery from initiation through completionReview project documentation such as contracts, specifications, drawings, and client communications to clarify scope and execution requirementsDevelop clear execution plans and communicate requirements to engineering, operations, and commissioning teamsAct as the primary point of contact for clients, ensuring consistent communication and high levels of customer satisfactionWork closely with engineering teams to ensure timely and accurate design outputs, including drawings, BOMs, and technical solutionsCoordinate with operations to align procurement, production schedules, and logistics with project milestonesSupport commissioning activities, including planning site work, coordinating readiness, training, and project close-outCreate and maintain detailed project schedules covering all phases of executionTrack project progress, identify risks or delays, and implement corrective actions where necessaryLead regular project meetings and provide updates to stakeholdersManage project documentation, including specifications, testing records, and progress reportsOversee scope changes and change orders to protect both delivery timelines and financial performanceMonitor and manage cash flow requirements related to project executionDrive efficiency through standardisation of repeatable project elementsConduct post-project reviews to capture lessons learned and identify opportunities for improvementProactively identify and resolve project issues and manage risk tracking processesOversee coordination between projects where shared resources or dependencies existRequirementsBachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering, Instrumentation, or a related discipline5-10+ years of experience in project delivery, project engineering, or project management within industrial automation, power systems, or related environmentsStrong technical understanding of control systems, electrical systems, and industrial processesAbility to interpret technical drawings, schematics, and specificationsProven experience managing large, cross-functional projects with multiple stakeholdersFamiliarity with project management methodologies and toolsStrong organisational, analytical, and communication skillsExperience with tools such as Microsoft Project, Primavera, and the Microsoft Office suitePMP or similar certification is advantageous but not essentialExperience with panel fabrication, factory testing, commissioning, and system handover is highly desirableLeadership ResponsibilitiesProvide leadership across cross-functional teams including engineering, manufacturing, and commissioningSupport team development through mentoring and guidance as the organisation growsAssist with staffing activities such as interviewing, onboarding, and performance management where requiredCybersecurity & ComplianceFollow company policies related to information security and data protectionEnsure secure handling of system configurations, software, and technical documentationMaintain confidentiality of sensitive project and system dataReport any potential cybersecurity concerns promptlyApply secure design principles throughout project executionParticipate in ongoing training and awareness initiativesKey CompetenciesStrong problem-solving and critical thinking skillsEffective leadership and decision-making abilityHigh level of technical judgementConflict resolution and stakeholder management skillsAdaptability in dynamic environmentsAbility to work under pressureStrong customer focusAccountability and ownership mindsetTechnical SkillsProficiency with project scheduling and management toolsStrong working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and collaboration toolsFamiliarity with ERP systems is beneficialWorking ConditionsOffice environment with moderate noise levelsPrimarily desk-based work with occasional movement as requiredAdditional InformationResponsibilities may evolve based on project and business needsBenefitsCompetitive benefits package including paid time off and holidays100% health, dental, and vision coverageRetirement savings plan with employer contributionLife insurance and disability coverageAdditional employee support programs
