COMPANY OVERVIEW
Merrimack Manufacturing is a medical device manufacturer located in the Manchester Millyard. We are a growing manufacturing company that will play a crucial part in bringing innovative and life changing products to life.
POSITION OVERVIEW
Merrimack Manufacturing LLC is recruiting for a Senior Manufacturing Engineer to be the primary resource for driving the improvement of medical device production processes at Merrimack Manufacturing (MM). The successful candidate will use their structured problem solving, analytical and hands-on leadership skills to drive process improvement projects to completion.
RESPONSIBILITIES
The Senior Manufacturing Engineer owns the collection, processing and analysis of manufacturing process data to develop a technical improvement plan for area(s) of ownership. Leads the daily activities of a team of technical resources to rapidly identify and resolve root causes through structured daily management processes. Leads the identification, scoping, execution of mid, and long-term process improvement projects. Interfaces with Design Authority resources to communicate production line performance metrics. Utilizes LEAN manufacturing techniques to drive improvements to cost and throughput. Develops standardized work, production control methods, clear assembly instructions, fixtures, and pFMEA's. Develops and executes Engineering Studies and other designed experiments to identify process improvement opportunities. Consults with design and supply chain resources to determine product and equipment requirements Leads the execution of validation protocols including
IQ/OQ/PQ/MQ
focus areas. Interfaces with design and manufacturing partners for all stages of design transfer to ensure production processes and products meet performance requirements.
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
5+ years' experience in a hands-on, production manufacturing engineering role (medical device preferred). Previous experience building, troubleshooting, and repairing complex electro-mechanical systems/devices, manufacturing processes and assembly lines. Knowledge of component forming processes, assembly processes, and production line optimization, documentation and process improvement. Preferred experience in Design for Manufacturability and/or Design Transfer for complex medical devices. Previous experience with ERP/MRP Systems, preferably Exact MAX Strong communication and time management skills. Understanding and successful prior use of Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma Principles including Red- X, Hoshin Kanri X-Matrix, TPS, A3 Thinking, Poka-Yoke, PDCA, RCCA, Value Stream Mapping, 6S, Lean Daily Management, TPM, Kaizen, Jidoka, KanBan, Obeya, SMED, Visual Factory, JIT, Heijunka, Standardized Work, Work Combination Development, etc. Experience working in both start-up and established business environments preferred High proficiency in MSOffice applications, Visio, Etc. Green belt or higher certification preferred
EDUCATION
BS in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering or suitable combination of successful prior experience and education. ltENSqcie4
