Scientific Management Techniques, Inc. (SMT) is hiring a Technical Trainer to deliver world-class mechatronics training and skills assessment programs to manufacturers and educators across the U.S. and internationally. We are seeking a dynamic and enthusiastic Technical Trainer to empower our customers with essential technical skills and knowledge. In this role, you will design, develop, and deliver engaging training programs that enhance technical competencies across various platforms and systems. This role is ideal for a self-driven technical professional who's confident in mechanical/electrical systems, PLCs, and controls—and can communicate clearly, train effectively, and represent SMT professionally at client sites.Position Summary:
As a Technical Trainer, you will: Deliver SMT's Mechatronics Skills Training Program in industrial and educational settings. Train and certify client instructors to deliver SMT's Mechatronics Skills Training Programs. Develop comprehensive training materials, including manuals and presentations tailored to diverse learning styles and technical levels. Train and certify client instructors to deliver SMT's Assessment Protocol (AP) Skills Training programs. Administer SMT assessment programs in both industry and education settings. Conduct engaging classroom sessions and hands-on labs. Assess training needs through analysis of performance gaps and feedback; customize programs accordingly to maximize effectiveness.What We're Looking For:
To succeed in this role, you should have: Deep, hands-on knowledge of mechanical, electrical, PLC, and process control systems in manufacturing environments. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills. Proven ability to mentor, coach, and train others effectively. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite as well as SolidWorks. Strong self-starter mindset with entrepreneurial drive, initiative, and problem-solving skills. Willingness and ability to travel as required. Proven experience in teaching or training roles with strong classroom facilitation skills. Skilled in troubleshooting issues across multiple platforms. Ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly to non-technical audiences with excellent communication skills. Analysis skills for assessing training effectiveness. Ability to commute to our Merrimack, NH office (required).
