Job Description:
We are seeking a Design Engineer to join our team at CPI, with a minimum of 5 years relevant experience in an Electro-Mechanical manufacturing environment . This is an exciting opportunity to join our engineering team for an individual who is motivated, comfortable wearing many hats, willing to learn with every new challenge and help contribute to the success of the company.
Responsibilities:
Creating new product design to meet our customers' requirements (prototyping, testing etc.…) Create engineering drawings using 2D/3D CAD for use in proposals and installation Create bills of material (BOM) and routings for use in cost estimates and manufacturing Plan, prepare and conduct product tests (ATP, QTP, ETR) Provide technical support to Sales, Purchasing, Production, Toolroom, and Inspection Responsible for sustained engineering and ongoing product maintenance, updating 3D CAD models, engineering specifications & drawings and engineering bill of materials (BOM), utilizing the existing ECR/ECN processes.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field Minimum 5 years experience engineering, design and manufacturing Experience with GD&T, able to perform stack-up tolerance analysis Experience using SolidWorks in a professional environment Strong problem-solving and engineering judgment skills Experience and knowledge of manufacturing processes, techniques, and practices Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work well with others in a collaborative cross functional environment Ability to work both independently and in a team environment. Experience managing engineering projects within aerospace and/or defense environments, including technical documentation, qualification testing, customer specifications, and contract deliverables, is a plus.
