Manufacturing Engineer Lead Fastener Dimensions, Inc. Pennsauken, NJ
- $100,000 to $120,000 per year - based on experience
- Full Time - 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM

Position Summary:
The Manufacturing Engineer Lead is responsible for evaluating the Sales Order for a Fastener order for Specification and Drawing Flow Down of requirements (via the Traveler/Router development process); applying the appropriate shop process steps (and or supplier process steps where required due to capabilities or capacity limits); applying the requirements onto the traveler, if it is not in standard reference data; creating or modifying detail drawings for shop or supplier manufacture of the fastener; interfacing with, and understanding the technical capabilities and qualifications of suppliers for materials or processing to applicable Aerospace and Commercial Specifications. Responsible for writing purchase orders for material or services from suppliers. They are ultimately responsible for training other, more junior engineers, in these same functions. They must be well skilled in making CAD drawings of components, as well as implementing the Quality Management System (QMS) in compliance with AS9100 standards. This role utilizes AutoDesk Inventor and other related programs, as well as Word, Excel, and other computer applications.Key Roles & Responsibilities:
Manufacturing Engineer Lead Quality Management System (QMS) Understand and follow the company's AS9100D-certified QMS. Ensure all activities and requirements flow down are in accordance with specifications, procedures, and technical requirements as supplied by the Engineering Manager, Quality Manager, and the specific Sales Order. Thoroughly review Specifications to assure that all materials processing and testing are in accordance with referenced specifications. Assure accurate documentation of requirements and their specific data or mechanical requirements onto the traveler and related documents, and communication of such to the applicable shop lead or supplier. Train more junior engineers in these functions. Leadership and Oversight Lead the design and requirements flow down of components with other engineers, shop personnel and suppliers. Provide mentoring, and development of new personnel, interns, and others as required. Lead the communications effort to shop leaders of requirements for components, or jobs, especially when new or outside of operating norms. Customer Focus & Product Quality Ensure that customer requirements and specifications are reviewed and referenced properly. Ensure that the flow of the parts through the shops/suppliers are accurately captured on the traveler so that each operation is specifically addressed and documented. Write and process purchase orders for materials or services from suppliers. Conduct root-cause analysis and actions for internal and customer-reported issues. Safety Controls Maintain and provide a safe operating environment. Ensure that work flow requirements recognize any safety specific considerations in parts handling. Internal Audit & Compliance Participate in the internal audit programs covering all AS9100 clauses as requested. Track findings, verify corrective actions, and ensure timely closure. Process Control & Continuous Improvement Implement and monitor key quality metrics as requested by Engineering Manager. Provide input for any process or equipment improvements on at least a quarterly basis or as requested by Engineering Manager. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in mechanical, manufacturing, or systems engineering is required. This may be augmented with an advanced degree in a related discipline. Minimum 2 years' experience in CAD design within aerospace, defense, or precision manufacturing. Minimum 2 years' experience in product design, processing and testing. Proficient in AutoDesk Inventor or similar, MS Word, Microsoft Excel, and general computer competency. Excellent communication and analytical skills. Behavioral Competencies . Clear communication with other engineers, suppliers, shop floor and management level personnel is essential. Good Training capabilities in CAD and Materials processing.Pay:
