Manufacturing engineering CNC machining Full Job Description We are seeking an experienced Manufacturing Engineer to support a precision gear manufacturing environment and grow into a future lead manufacturing engineering role in an Employee Owned Business (ESOP) This is a succession planning position for someone who is already strong technically and wants a long-term path into higher-level engineering leadership. The right person will be hands-on with manufacturing processes, CNC machining, tooling, customer specifications, quality standards, and continuous improvement. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys being close to the shop floor, solving technical production problems, improving processes, and becoming a trusted resource for operators, quality, customer service, and leadership. What You Will Do Develop and improve manufacturing processes from concept through production start-up. Review customer drawings, specifications, quality requirements, and technical documents. Create internal process drawings and manufacturing documentation. Support CNC programming, machining processes, tooling, fixtures, gages, and process validation. Work closely with production, quality, customer service, sales engineering, and outside vendors. Assist with estimating cycle times, manufacturing costs, and process capability. Support continuous improvement projects focused on safety, quality, delivery, cost, and efficiency. Maintain and improve ISO-related procedures, documentation, and manufacturing standards. Support gear manufacturing processes, inspection methods, heat treat requirements, and technical problem solving. Provide technical guidance to operators, supervisors, and manufacturing teams. Prepare to grow into a lead manufacturing engineering role over time. What We Are Looking For Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical field preferred. 5 to 7 years of manufacturing engineering experience in a machining, CNC, gear manufacturing, or precision manufacturing environment. Strong understanding of blueprints, GD&T, tolerances, process drawings, and customer specifications. Experience with CNC machining, tooling, fixtures, gages, and manufacturing process development. Knowledge of ISO 9001, AGMA, DIN, or other manufacturing standards preferred. Experience with gear manufacturing, gear inspection, heat treat, carburizing, or metallurgical specifications strongly preferred. Proficiency with AutoCAD, DraftSight, SolidWorks, or similar design software. Strong communication skills and the ability to work across engineering, production, quality, and leadership. Ability to manage multiple priorities while staying organized, accurate, and practical. Why This Role Matters This is not a narrow desk engineering role. This person will help shape how products are manufactured, how processes are improved, how technical knowledge is shared, and how the engineering function prepares for future leadership needs. For the right candidate, this is a chance to step into a respected manufacturing environment, learn the business deeply, and build toward becoming the lead manufacturing engineering resource. Compensation The pay range for this position is $78,000 to $93,000 per year, based on experience, technical background, and alignment with the role requirements. You will be eligible for an excellent benefit package - which includes eligibility for health, dental, vision, life, and long term disability insurance, as well as a very well-funded 401k Retirement Plan. You will also have an opportunity to share in the company's success with participation in our Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP).Pay:
