Engineering Co-Op Fives Machining Systems Addup Inc. - 3.3 Cincinnati, OH Job Details 19 hours ago Qualifications Inspection gauge Microscopic analysis Hardness testers Tensile testing 3D printers Calculus Writing skills Materials engineering within manufacturing Monitoring dimensions Presentations for conferences or internal meetings Mechanical Engineering Manufacturing facility Dimensional measurements Microscope proficiency Materials Engineering Thermodynamics Precision measurement in machining 3D printing Design engineering Physics SolidWorks Additive manufacturing implementation Design for manufacturability (DFM) Optical microscopy Welding Manufacturing Materials science Hand tools Communication skills Materials Science Full Job Description This Co-Op would work with the AddUp engineering team to learn and refine skill sets like material testing/development, design for additive manufacturing, and general problem solving and apply them to real projects that utilize Laser Powder Bed Fusion. They would regularly work on project-specific material characterization as well as a short capstone project in their downtime.
Degree Program:
Must be pursuing a 4-year degree in materials, mechanical, or metallurgical engineering (or equivalent) Has completed at least 1-3 years of that degree program
Coursework:
Required:
Introduction to Materials (Structures/Properties of Materials), Engineering Math/Calculus 1, Introduction to Chemistry, and a laboratory class (all of these or equivalent)
Desired:
Material Testing Principles/Lab, Metallography, Physics, Thermodynamics, Mechanics of Materials, Basic Design Principles Skills (not all required, but a plus): Metallography and optical microscopy Material testing Tensile Hardness Roughness Microstructure Etc. Good written/oral communication skills Additive manufacturing experience Traditional manufacturing experience Welding experience Hand tools Design principles (DFM/DFAM) SolidWorks or equivalent Dimensional testing experience (calipers, micrometers, blue light scanning) Technical presentations/communication Other Preferences (not required, but a plus): US Citizen
