Long-Term Contract Job Summary We are seeking an experienced Automation Engineer to support pharmaceutical manufacturing operations and capital projects within a GMP-regulated environment in Columbus, Ohio. The ideal candidate will have strong experience supporting process automation, PLC/SCADA systems, manufacturing equipment integration, and troubleshooting within pharma or biotech facilities. This role will work closely with manufacturing, validation, engineering, and quality teams to support automation systems for production equipment, utilities, and process controls. Key Responsibilities Support automation systems for pharmaceutical manufacturing and packaging equipment Configure, troubleshoot, and maintain PLC, HMI, and SCADA systems Support commissioning, qualification, and startup activities for automated systems Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Validation, Quality, and Manufacturing Investigate automation-related deviations and implement corrective actions Support change controls, system upgrades, and software modifications in compliance with GMP requirements Develop and maintain automation documentation including functional specifications, SOPs, and system architecture documents Provide technical support during equipment installation, FAT, SAT, IQ, OQ, and PQ activities Ensure systems comply with FDA, GMP, and data integrity requirements Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Automation, Electrical Engineering, or related field 4+ years of automation engineering experience within pharmaceutical, biotech, or life sciences industries Strong experience with PLC platforms such as Allen-Bradley, Siemens, or DeltaV Experience with
SCADA/HMI
systems including FactoryTalk, Wonderware, or Ignition Hands-on experience supporting GMP manufacturing environments Knowledge of commissioning, qualification, and validation processes Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills Excellent communication and documentation abilities Preferred Qualifications Experience supporting sterile manufacturing or packaging operations Familiarity with MES systems and data historians Experience with serialization or process automation projects Knowledge of 21 CFR Part 11 compliance Preferred Skills PLC Programming SCADA Systems DeltaV /
