Job Description

Position Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Manufacturing Engineer to support the design, build, and deployment of automated machinery systems. This role is responsible for developing and optimizing manufacturing processes, with a strong emphasis on CNC programming, mechanical design interpretation, and full turnkey project execution—from machine arrival through installation, commissioning, and final customer acceptance. The ideal candidate combines hands-on technical expertise with strong project ownership and cross-functional collaboration.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop, write, and optimize CNC programs for multi-axis machining centers to support production of precision components and assemblies. Interpret and work from mechanical designs using SolidWorks or AutoCAD, ensuring manufacturability and efficient production workflows. Lead and execute turnkey manufacturing processes, including machine setup, validation, process qualification, and final handoff to customers. Collaborate with design engineering to refine product designs for manufacturability (DFM) and cost efficiency. Oversee machine installation and commissioning at customer sites, ensuring systems meet performance, safety, and quality standards. Create and maintain detailed process documentation, work instructions, and standard operating procedures (SOPs). Troubleshoot machining, tooling, and automation issues, implementing corrective actions to minimize downtime and improve throughput. Select and validate tooling, fixtures, and cutting strategies to optimize cycle times and product quality. Support continuous improvement initiatives using lean manufacturing and root cause analysis methodologies. Coordinate with cross-functional teams including design, assembly, quality, and field service to ensure seamless project execution. Provide technical training and support to operators, technicians, and customers as needed.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience). 3-6+ years of experience in a manufacturing or automation environment. Strong CNC programming experience (e.g., G-code, CAM software) for complex machined components. Proficiency in SolidWorks and/or AutoCAD for interpreting and supporting mechanical designs. Demonstrated experience managing or contributing to turnkey manufacturing or automation projects. Solid understanding of machining processes, tooling, fixturing, and materials. Ability to troubleshoot mechanical and process-related issues in a fast-paced environment. Willingness to travel for machine installation and customer support as required.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with multi-axis machining (4-axis/5-axis). Familiarity with PLCs, automation systems, and robotics integration. Knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing). Experience with ERP/MRP systems and manufacturing data tracking. Lean manufacturing or Six Sigma certification.
Key Competencies:
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills. Excellent communication and customer-facing abilities. High level of ownership and accountability for project outcomes. Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines effectively. Hands-on, detail-oriented approach with a focus on quality and efficiency.
Work Environment:
Combination of office, shop floor, and customer site environments. May involve standing for extended periods and working with machinery. Travel may be required (up to 25-35%) depending on project needs.
