Job Description:
The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for improving production efficiency, quality, and safety in a high?volume automotive manufacturing environment. This role is hands?on on the shop floor , supporting daily production, optimizing processes, and programming and maintaining robotic and automated systems to meet demanding customer and operational requirements. Key Responsibilities Drive continuous improvement initiatives to improve safety, quality, delivery, and cost (SQDC) Analyze current manufacturing processes and implement process improvements to increase throughput and reduce waste Provide day?to?day technical support to production teams on the manufacturing floor Develop, optimize, and maintain robotic programs Troubleshoot robotic cells, automation, tooling, and process issues with minimal downtime Create and maintain standard work , process documentation, and work instructions Collaborate with maintenance, quality, production, and engineering teams to resolve issues Support root cause analysis and corrective actions for quality and downtime issues Assist with capital projects , equipment installation, and layout optimization Ensure processes comply with safety, quality, and automotive standards Support lean manufacturing initiatives (Kaizen, 5S, standardized work) Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering , or related field Experience in automotive or high?volume manufacturing Strong hands?on shop floor presence Experience with industrial robotics (programming, troubleshooting, optimization) Knowledge of manufacturing processes (assembly, automation, material flow) Ability to analyze data and drive practical, floor?level improvements Comfortable working in a fast?paced, high?demand production environment Preferred Qualifications Experience programming robots (e.g., Fanuc, ABB, Yaskawa , or similar) Experience with PLC basics , automation controls, or vision systems Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing / Six Sigma Experience in new product launches Strong problem?solving and root cause analysis skills Working Style & Expectations Regularly on the manufacturing floor , not desk?only Flexible to support production needs, launches, and issues Strong sense of urgency, ownership, and accountability Collaborative, team?oriented mindset aligned with a One Team culture
