GENERAL DESCRIPTION
PURPOSE OF ROLE:
The Process Engineer will focusing on optimizing and improving our upset forging operations. The ideal candidate will ensure the smooth, safe, and efficient functioning of forging production lines, develop new tooling techniques, reduce scrap, and improve overall operational performance. Primary Accountabilities Process Optimization Develop, configure, and optimize forging processes from raw material preparation to finished, forged parts, ensuring maximum efficiency and minimal material waste. Technical Support Provide troubleshooting and root cause analysis for forging machines, induction heaters, and related tooling issues to minimize downtime. Tooling & Die Design Work with tool room personnel to design, test, and validate new dies and tools for upset forging, improving tool life and part quality. Data-Driven Improvements Analyze production data, process parameters (temperatures, pressure, speed), and quality metrics to implement process improvements and cost-reduction initiatives. Documentation Establish and maintain comprehensive documentation, including Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Work Instructions (WI), Process Flow Diagrams, and FMEA (Failure Mode and Effects Analysis). Quality & Safety Compliance Ensure all processes adhere to company quality standards (e.g., TS16949/ISO9001) and safety regulations. Collaboration Work with cross-functional teams, including design, quality control, and production staff, to transition new products from prototyping to mass production. Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) Project delivery on time and within budget. Reduction of project risks through proactive monitoring. High-quality technical documentation and design accuracy.
  • First-Time Quality above 85% Knowledge, Skills, Abilities 3+ years of experience in project engineering or project management. Proficiency in CAD software, Microsoft Project, or similar project management tools. Strong understanding of industry-specific regulations and compliance. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
