Job Description:
Drive and support plant engineering initiatives within the Secondary Finishing Department, focusing on Continuous Improvement and Problem Resolution to enhance departmental efficiency. Responsibilities include developing, improving, and troubleshooting manufacturing systems related to equipment and tooling, with an emphasis on creating robust, reliable processes. Responsibilities Optimize CNC machining operations across 14 dual turning machines. Implement highly technical automation solutions and 100% gaging systems. Facilitate a Zero PPM quality initiative within the secondary department including measurable scrap reduction projects. Provide technical leadership for high-volume double disk and OD grinding processes. Develop and maintain equipment specifications and parameters based on manufacturing recommendations and cycle time optimization. Design, analyze and interpret data support process improvements and product capability enhancements with focus on departmental and machine specific OEE. Improve tooling performance and cost through tool testing and supplier development. Champion Diversity & Inclusion in line with the Company guidelines Other duties as assigned. Qualifications BS in Mechanical Engineering OR related technical field and 2-year combined experience. Proficiency in CAD and 3D modeling. Knowledge of and experience with G-code and CNC programing. Familiarity with CBN and carbide turn tooling experience and failure modes. Strong mechanical aptitude with hands-on ability. Knowledge of LEAN Manufacturing principles. Ability to apply statistical analysis techniques. Ability to read and interpret mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic prints.
