Temp-to-hire, Full-time, Contract Controls Engineer Middle Point, OH Long Term Contract/Perm Conversion Opportunity Key Responsibilities:
Design and develop PLC/HMI-based automation and machine control systems Program, troubleshoot, and debug control systems for custom manufacturing equipment Support system commissioning, startup, runoff, and customer acceptance activities Create and review electrical schematics, control architectures, and network layouts Integrate automation systems with robots, vision systems, data collection platforms, and MES interfaces Lead controls-related activities for automation projects from concept through implementation Assist with project quoting, estimating, and development of controls scope Support installation, startup, and training activities at customer facilities Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, manufacturing, and assembly teams throughout project execution Troubleshoot automation, communication, and production issues in fast-paced manufacturing environments Maintain project schedules while balancing quality, budget, and customer expectationsPreferred Qualifications:
5+ years of experience in industrial automation, controls engineering, or machine integration Experience programming multiple PLC and automation platforms Hands-on experience with robotic systems, machine vision systems, and industrial networks Strong troubleshooting and commissioning background within automated manufacturing environments Experience supporting custom machinery, assembly systems, or production automation equipment Ability to interpret electrical schematics, I/O layouts, and controls documentation Familiarity with industrial communication protocols and plant-floor data integration Experience leading projects or mentoring junior controls engineers is preferred Strong customer communication and project coordination skills Degree or equivalent hands-on experience in Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering, Automation, or related field Equal Opportunity Employer/Veterans/Disabled.
