Monroe, Ohio (Onsite - 5 Days/Week) Worthington Steel is seeking a Plant Controls Engineer to support our manufacturing operations in Monroe, Ohio. This is an outstanding opportunity ideal for a driven engineer with 2 - 7 years of hands-on PLC programming and troubleshooting experience in a manufacturing environment who enjoys working directly on the plant floor with operators and maintenance teams. This role is centered on hands-on plant support, ensuring the reliability and performance of our PLCs, HMIs, drives, and industrial networks through direct troubleshooting and rapid problem solving. Working side-by-side with maintenance and operations, the Plant Controls Engineer has the opportunity to lead improvements projects, automation, and have ownership of systems. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in electrical, Controls, Automation Engineering, or related field (or equivalent practical experience) 2 - 7 years of hands-on PLC programming and troubleshooting experience in a manufacturing environment (required) Strong working knowledge of PLC platforms (Rockwell/Allen-Bradley preferred) Experience with HMIs, VFDs, servos, instrumentation, and industrial networks (EtherNet/IP, DeviceNet, etc.) Ability to work onsite in Monroe, Ohio five days per week
Working Conditions:
Manufacturing plant environment with exposure to noise, heat, and moving equipment Occasional off-shift or weekend support may be required to support operations or project execution
Compensation:
The base salary range for this position is $80,000 to $100,000 per year. This range reflects the anticipated base salary for this role at the time of posting. Actual compensation within the range will be determined based on experience, qualifications, skills, and other job-related factors. In addition to base salary, employees are eligible to participate in Worthington Steel's company-wide profit-sharing program. Profit-sharing payouts are based on company performance and are not guaranteed.
