Job Title:
Manufacturing Engineer Job Description We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Manufacturing Engineer to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for developing, documenting, and standardizing CNC machining processes for both new and existing products. You will play a crucial role in designing and optimizing tooling and machining methods to enhance quality, throughput, and cost-effectiveness. Responsibilities Develop, document, and standardize CNC machining processes for new and existing products. Design and optimize tooling, fixturing, and machining methods to improve quality, throughput, and cost. Lead process development and validation activities including APQP, PFMEA, control plans, and PPAPs. Support new product launches, including machine prove-outs and production ramp-ups. Apply GD&T and drawing interpretation to establish robust, repeatable processes. Utilize SPC and data analysis to monitor process capability and drive continuous improvement. Partner with Production, Quality, and Maintenance teams to resolve process, tooling, and equipment issues. Create and maintain work instructions, routings, and technical documentation. Train operators and technicians on process standards, SPC, and problem-solving methods. Ensure compliance with Quality Management System (QMS) and environmental requirements. Essential Skills Manufacturing engineering expertise. Proficiency in process improvement. Experience working in a CNC machining environment. Knowledge of metals manufacturing. Precision machining knowledge with tight tolerances. PFMEA development. CAD/CAM skills. Familiarity with the automotive industry. Additional Skills & Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering, or equivalent technical experience. 2+ years of experience in a CNC machining manufacturing environment. Strong working knowledge of CNC lathes, screw machines, and/or precision grinding processes. Experience with APQP, PFMEA, PPAP, SPC, and root cause analysis. Ability to read and apply GD&T on complex mechanical drawings. Hands-on, shop-floor-oriented mindset with strong problem-solving skills. Work Environment This role is based in a high precision CNC machining environment characterized by very tight tolerances. The facility is large, well laid out, and clean, with a history of high volume and high precision projects. Recently, there has been a shift towards lower volume and middle precision projects to diversify offerings. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Wellington, OH. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $33.65 - $43.27/hr.
