We are seeking a CNV Project Automation Engineer to join our Chief Technology Officer organization. This role will support the development, implementation, and optimization of automation systems across converting operations, with a focus on the CNV project. The position will play a key role in driving efficiency, reliability, and standardization across manufacturing processes. Key Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Support the design and implementation of automation systems for converting lines, automated guided vehicles, and automated warehouse systems Collaborate with cross functional teams to define technical requirements and project scope Assist in the integration of PLC, HMI, and control systems within manufacturing operations Troubleshoot automation and control system issues to ensure minimal downtime Support commissioning, start up, and validation of new equipment and systems Work closely with operations and maintenance teams to improve system performance Analyze production data to identify opportunities for process improvement Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards Support standardization of automation practices across facilities Maintain technical documentation related to automation systems and projects Availability to travel is essential for this position in support of project implementation and operational needs across facilities
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation Engineering, or related field Experience in industrial automation within a manufacturing environment preferred Knowledge of PLC programming including Allen Bradley and Siemens systems, HMI systems, and industrial control systems Experience with converting or paper manufacturing equipment is a plus Strong problem solving and analytical skills Ability to work both independently and within a team environment Availability and flexibility to travel up to 50% as required to support project implementation and operational needs across facilities Why Join Sofidel America?
