About the role The Senior Manager of NPI Manufacturing Engineering will lead the development, ramp-up, and optimization of manufacturing processes for new robotic systems. This role will focus on bridging the gap between design and production, ensuring seamless integration of new products into manufacturing while driving quality, efficiency, and scalability. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of new product introduction, design-for-manufacturability (DFM), and process development, combined with strong leadership and project management expertise. About the work Strategic Leadership Own and drive the NPI roadmap, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and production strategies. Establish manufacturing readiness criteria and ensure cross-functional teams meet key milestones for product launches. Collaborate with R D, design, and operations teams to optimize product designs for manufacturability and scalability. NPI Execution & Process Development Lead the development and validation of manufacturing processes for new products, from prototype to full-scale production. Oversee pilot builds, design reviews, and process qualifications to meet quality, cost, and schedule objectives. Develop and implement robust production line layouts, workflows, and work instructions to support new product launches. Cross-Functional Collaboration Serve as the primary manufacturing engineering representative for NPI projects, ensuring seamless communication between design engineering, supply chain, and operations teams. Partner with suppliers to qualify components, tooling, and processes critical to new product launches. Drive integration of cutting-edge automation and Industry 4.0 technologies to enhance new product manufacturing processes. Team Development Build and mentor a high-performing NPI manufacturing engineering team capable of supporting rapid product launches. Provide training and development opportunities to ensure the team is skilled in advanced manufacturing and NPI methodologies. Project Management Oversee multiple NPI projects, ensuring timelines, budgets, and quality goals are achieved. Coordinate resources, manage risks, and drive resolution of challenges during product transitions to production. Quality & Compliance Ensure all manufacturing processes for new products meet regulatory, safety, and quality standards. Implement and monitor performance metrics during new product ramp-up to identify areas for improvement. About you
Education:
Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Robotics, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field. MS in Engineering Management, MBA or equivalent is a plus.
Experience:
Minimum of 10 years in manufacturing engineering, with at least 5 years in a leadership role. Proven track record in manufacturing, automation, or high-tech production environments. Experience with project or people management in a regulated industry is preferred.
Skills:
Strong knowledge of lean principles, Six Sigma (Green/Black Belt certification preferred), and value stream mapping. Expertise in robotics assembly, integration, and testing processes. Proficient in using CAD/CAE tools and PLM systems, with familiarity in 3DExperience software preferred. Solid understanding of manufacturing technologies, including additive manufacturing, precision machining, and electronics integration. Exceptional problem-solving and communication skills. Certifications (Big Plus):
PMP, MBB
(Master Black Belt), CPIM, or related certifications. This is an onsite position at our Salem, OR office. The final salary offered to a successful candidate will be dependent on several factors that may include but are not limited to: job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Agility Robotics is a multi-state employer and this salary range may not reflect positions who work in other locations. These ranges may be modified in the future. Anticipated Base Salary Range $166,000 - $215,000 USD In addition to base pay, our competitive total rewards package consists of the following for full-time employees: 401(k)
