$80,000 - $120,000 per year Job Details - We are currently seeking a highly skilled and motivated Permanent Steel Design Engineer to join our dynamic team. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced professional to work on innovative construction projects, where you will be responsible for designing, planning, and overseeing the construction of steel structures. You will be involved in the full project life cycle from conceptual design through to completion, working closely with architects, contractors, and clients. This role offers the chance to work in a fast-paced environment where every project offers a new challenge.
Responsibilities:
Design and analyze steel structures using industry-approved software programs such as AutoCAD. Develop and review structural design plans and calculations, ensuring they comply with building codes and regulations. Conduct site inspections to monitor the progress of construction, ensuring the structures are built according to the design plans. Collaborate with architects, contractors, and clients to understand their design requirements and provide technical advice. Prepare and present design proposals, reports, and structural analyses to stakeholders. Manage project documentation and maintain accurate records of design calculations, correspondence, and other relevant information. Continually stay updated with the latest advancements in steel design and construction technology, and apply this knowledge to improve the efficiency and quality of designs. Troubleshoot and resolve any issues that may arise during the construction process.
Qualifications:
A Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related field. A minimum of 5 years' experience in steel design engineering in the construction industry. Proficiency in AutoCAD or similar design software is essential. In-depth knowledge of building codes, regulations, and standards. A strong understanding of structural analysis and design principles. Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex design issues. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with team members and stakeholders. Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines. Professional Engineering (PE) license is preferred.
