This role is critical in optimizing manufacturing processes, improving production efficiency, and ensuring high quality machining operations for large scale CNC lathes, horizontal and vertical boring mills, and five-axis machining centers used in the machining of large forgings for critical applications. The Manufacturing Engineer will be responsible for developing, implementing and refining CNC machining processes, tooling strategies, and workflow optimization to enhance productivity and reduce waste.
Manufacturing Engineer Responsibilities:
Develope and optimize CNC machining proccesses, ensuring efficient cost-effe4ive production. Design and improve tooling, fixtures and work holding solutions for CNC machines. Work closely with machinists, and production teams to troubleshoot and resolve machining issues. Conduct time studies and implement lean manufacturing principles to improve cycle times and reduce costs. Oversee new product introduction, ensuring smooth transition from design to production. Collaborate with quality control to maintain high standards and implement corrective actions when needed. Support maintenance team in troubleshooting and resolving machine-related issues. Ensure compliance with safety regulations and continuous improvement initiatives.Manufacturing Engineer Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in manufacturing engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field. 3+ years' experience in CNC machining, process engineering, or alternatively an associate's degree in mechanical /manufacturing engineering or related manufacturing setting Strong knowledge of G-code programming, CAD/CAM software (Mastercam, NX or Fusion 360) Experience with lean manufacturing, Six Sigma and continuous improvement methodologies. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and 3D models. Excellent problem solving, communication, and project management skills. Demonstrates leadership ability. Attention to detail required.Skills/Competencies:
- Excellent reading, written, verbal listening and overall communication and comprehension skills.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, charts, tables, other written instructions, and various symbols including GD&T principles.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Ability to work cross functionally and interact with various levels of the organization.
- Must have good problem solving, organizational, time management, conflict resolution, and planning skills
- Attention to detail required
- Strong analytical, geometrical, process engineering skills
- Operational familiarity with CAD/Cam software programs
- Experience with large Conventional and CNC machining practices.
