Job DescriptionAnalyze current laboratory processes and collaborate with laboratory management and Lean SMEs to identify opportunities for automation, digitalization, and lean process improvementsApply lean principles to support the successful integration of automation soutions into existing laboratory workflows, minimizing operational disruption.
Partner with automation engineers to connect new automated equipment to exisiting workflows, data systems, and reporting environments. Translate automation and operational requirements into integration specifications, including data flow definitions, interface behavior and reliability constraints.
Develop and maintain documentation for automation systems, including schematics, SOPs, and training materials.
Ensure compliance with safety standards and regulatory requirements in all automation projectsCollaborate with IT to establish and maintain secure network connectivity, segmentation, performance, and cybersecurity standards supporting laboratory automation.
Collaborate with vendors, suppliers, and cross-functional internal teams to drive automation projects to completion.
Serve as a site Subject Matter Expert (SME) working closely with lean and automation engineers, IT and the laboratory operations to help resolve integration-related issues across instrumentation, network communication and data workflows.
Act as the technical integration lead for laboratory automation initiatives, supporting PMO-driven projects from concept through implementationDevelop tools to quantify labor savings, waste reduction, and carbon footprint impact resulting from projects.
Ensure integrations comply with validation and qualification requirements defined by Quality EngineeringAssist and consult with other Eurofins BPT sites in North AmericaCollaborate with local college/university robotics teams to drive innovation and creative solutions.
Attend Lean/Automation topic related conferences/networking forums and present on behalf of the company as applicableQualificationsBasic Minimum QualificationsBachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Automation or related technical fieldMinimum 3 years industry experience in Laboratory or manufacturing environmentsAuthorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship Preferred QualificationsUnderstanding of scripting or lightweight programming, experience in validation or qualification activities (IQ/OQ/PQ)Familiarity with GMP standards and continuous improvement frameworksAdditional InformationPosition is full-time, Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m., with additional hours, as needed.
