Job Description

Design Engineer Job Description General Description:
Analyzes, designs, and Draws current or old designs/assemblies to meet qualifications specified by the governing principle. Responsibilities (includes, but not limited to): Evaluates mechanical and electromechanical systems and products by designing and conducting research and developing 3D CAD drawings. Develops mechanical and electromechanical models by studying customer requirements including evaluating and interpreting prints and drawings. Develops manufacturing processes by the design of the part and the appropriate machining operations. Generating machining operations for a part through CAMWorks and G-Code Maintains product and company Quality System by implementing and complying with AS9100, ISO-9000, and all related government regulations. Completes projects by training and guiding technicians. Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies. Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
Skills:
Requirements Analysis Design Skills Presenting Technical Information Interpretation skills of 2D drawings with the capabilities to convert 2D drawings back to 3D models or vice versa. Experience with SolidWorks Cam and machining operations Must be able to reproduce/recreate 3D assemblies from old drawings in SolidWorks Ability to ensure that drawings will be completed in a timely manner to meet the current production schedule.

Previous experience in an engineering/manufacturing setting with a focus of design, and production /or co-op experience Ability to work independently and as part of a cross-functional team with remote locations Maintain excellent attention to detail, possess organizational, analytical, oral and written communication skills Able to handle confidential information in dealing with government contracts Ability to multitask, establish priorities, and meet deadlines A willingness to work in a small business with a fast-paced environment that is committed to excellence and growth Extensive experience with at least one common program of 3D CAD design and experience with the entire Microsoft Office suite, including Word, Excel, and Outlook About Parts Life, Inc. and
