Actalent Engineering is hiring a Project Engineer to support capital projects within a manufacturing facility. This role is ideal for an engineer who enjoys working hands-on in a plant environment while managing technical projects from concept through execution. You'll play a key role in driving process improvements, coordinating vendors, and supporting capital project execution , working closely with operations, maintenance, and leadership teams. Key Responsibilities Support capital and plant improvement projects from scope through execution and closeout Coordinate with vendors and contractors, ensuring timelines, budgets, and deliverables are met Review and update engineering drawings, layouts, and P&IDs Assist in project planning, documentation, and tracking through project stage gates Perform process evaluations and time studies to identify efficiency improvements Work directly on the manufacturing floor to support implementation and troubleshooting Collaborate with operations, maintenance, and engineering teams to meet production goals Ensure adherence to safety standards, including lockout-tagout procedures Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Chemical, or Process Engineering 2-4 years of experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment Exposure to project engineering or capital project work Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and schematics Experience with AutoCAD or similar CAD tools Strong organizational and communication skills Preferred Qualifications Experience in chemical, pharmaceutical, or biotech manufacturing Exposure to capital project execution or CAPEX environments Familiarity with P&IDs, piping, tanks, and industrial equipment layouts Lean manufacturing or process improvement experience Work Environment Fully onsite in a manufacturing/plant environment
Schedule:
7:00 AM - 3:00 PM , Monday-Friday Overtime available based on project needs Role split between engineering desk work (~30%) and plant floor support (~70%) Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Philadelphia, PA.
