Job Description:
Manufacturing Engineer Position Summary The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for driving continuous improvement initiatives to enhance quality, efficiency, and cost performance across fabrication and assembly operations. This role will develop, implement, and optimize manufacturing processes while supporting production teams and ensuring operational excellence. Key Responsibilities Evaluate current manufacturing processes and workflows to identify opportunities to improve quality, productivity, safety, and cost Develop and maintain standard work procedures and supporting documentation Perform time and motion studies to establish and improve production standards Collaborate with engineering and production teams to ensure product designs are optimized for manufacturability (DFM) Troubleshoot production floor issues and implement timely, effective solutions Lead and support Lean manufacturing initiatives across all areas of operations Design and implement manufacturing fixtures to improve efficiency and consistency Stay current on emerging technologies and manufacturing practices and apply them to improve operations Maintain and update BOMs and routing as needed Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering required Lean or Six Sigma training or certification preferred 6-8 years of experience in an industrial manufacturing environment Technical Skills & Experience Strong knowledge of fabrication processes and equipment, including MIG welding, plasma/waterjet cutting, press brakes, saws, rollers, lathes, and general shop equipment Experience with CNC programming for milling machines and lathes Ability to read, interpret, and create technical drawings and blueprints Proficiency in AutoCAD and Autodesk Inventor (experience with Inventor Vault preferred) Working knowledge of MRP systems and manufacturing workflows Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite Core Competencies Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills High attention to detail and commitment to quality Excellent written and verbal communication skills Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment Self-motivated with strong initiative, integrity, and accountability Team-oriented with the ability to collaborate across functions Willingness and ability to coach and train team members
