Responsibilities:
This is a temporary position funded through April 2027. Develop, implement, and manage the manufacturing processes, methods, and equipment designed to ensure efficient production of advanced carbon and SiC materials that meet or exceed our customers' expectations. Ensure that these manufacturing processes, methods, and equipment meet or exceed the requirements of our
ISO 9001
2008 and AS 9100 Certification, the customers application, and are consistent with established standards, customer specifications, and production goals. Perform roles and responsibilities in accordance with direction from the Manufacturing Engineering Manager.
Essential Functions:
Print daily job packets (work order, task notes and prints) to be supplied to the Manufacturing floor. Assists in coordinating manufacturing launch for new or revised products, processes, and equipment. Performs research, design, and development of manufacturing processes, including production workflow, machining and finishing operations, assembly methods. Assists in developing Bills of Materials, Routers, Work Instructions, and Control Plans using manufacturing engineering best practices. Represents manufacturing engineering on cross-functional teams like AQP and the MRB. Evaluates, troubleshoots, and solves production process problems on the shop floor, including Router Changes. Performs product/process analysis and implements continuous improvement initiatives for cost reduction, scrap reduction, yield improvements and increased overall equipment efficiency. Scans legacy manufacturing information to secure portals. Support the engineering staff and production team with multiple tasks on a daily basis.
Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications and Education Requirements High school graduate or equivalent is required, bachelor's degree in business is preferred Proficient in basic math skills is required. (multiplication, division, addition and subtraction) Related manufacturing experience is desired. OSHA 10 Level or equivalent Safety Training is desired. Prior experience working with manufacturing processes that utilized CNC & Manual Machining Equipment (mills, lathes, grinders, etc.) is desired. Knowledge of Blueprint reading. Basic understanding of quality management systems in an
ISO 9001/AS 9100
is desired. Knowledge of Kaizen and Lean Manufacturing techniques is desired. Experience with developing/documenting procedures is required.
