Job Description

Regional Continuous Improvement (CI) EngineerPosition OverviewThe Regional Continuous Improvement (CI) Engineer will lead and scale CI and Lean manufacturing initiatives across multiple sites within a defined region. The role focuses on identifying process inefficiencies, driving cost and waste reduction, improving quality and throughput, and developing local teams to sustain and replicate improvements. The Regional CI Engineer will partner with operations, maintenance, quality, and supply chain to deliver measurable operational performance gains and embed a culture of continuous improvement.

Home base in ATL metro OR DFW Metro preferred - Remote + up to 50% Travel.

Key ResponsibilitiesLead and execute regional CI strategy and deployment of Lean manufacturing principles across multiple facilities.

Plan, facilitate and lead Kaizen events, rapid improvement workshops, and value stream mapping sessions to identify and eliminate waste.

Apply CI and problem-solving methodologies (DMAIC, PDCA, 8D) to resolve process, quality, and throughput issues.

Coach and train site engineers, supervisors, and operators on standard work, 5S, visual management, SMED, and other Lean tools to build local capability.

Drive data-driven improvements by analyzing performance metrics (OEE, cycle time, first pass yield, scrap, throughput) and establishing sustainable countermeasures.

Manage cross-functional improvement projects from definition through implementation and sustainment, including scheduling, resource coordination, and tracking of benefits.

Develop and standardize best practices, work instructions, and continuous improvement playbooks for regional roll-out.

Coordinate pilot implementations and scale successful improvements across other sites in the region.

Partner with safety and quality teams to ensure improvements comply with regulatory and corporate standards and enhance product quality and workplace safety.

Report progress and ROI to regional leadership, setting targets and tracking savings, productivity gains, and other KPIs.

QualificationsBachelors degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field; equivalent experience considered.5+ years of hands-on experience in continuous improvement, Lean manufacturing, or industrial engineering within a manufacturing environment, including site and multi-site deployments.

Certification in Lean, Six Sigma (Green Belt required; Black Belt preferred), or equivalent CI training.

Proven experience facilitating Kaizen events, value stream mapping, and deploying standardized work and 5S programs.

Strong analytical skills with experience using data analysis tools (Excel, Minitab, Power BI or similar) and comfort working with production performance metrics.

Demonstrated project management skills, including leading cross-functional teams and delivering measurable cost, quality, and productivity improvements.

Excellent coaching, communication, and change management skills with the ability to influence at all levels of the organization.

Willingness to travel regularly to regional sites.

Experience with manufacturing systems (ERP, MES) and knowledge of maintenance and process control principles is a plus.
