Control Systems Engineers and Designers

PTS Advance is looking for multiple Control Systems Designers and Engineers. The positions could be based at various locations: Walnut Creek (CA), Bellingham (WA), Billings (MT), Salt Lake City (UT), Denver (CO) or Anchorage (AK). Hybrid schedule: 2 days from home/3 days from the office. Control Systems Designers and Engineers (Multiple Positions) We are seeking Control Systems Designers and Engineers at various experience levels to support industrial automation and control system projects. These roles involve developing control system designs, preparing construction drawing packages, and supporting project execution from concept throughmissioning. Successful candidates will have strong technical skills, the ability to work independently or as part of a team, and experience supporting stage-gated industrial projects. Senior candidates will also mentor junior team members and help lead design efforts. Key Responsibilities Develop control system design packages in collaboration with engineers and project teams Interpret P&IDs and translate them into control system drawings and documentation Prepare construction drawings, including: Block diagrams, wiring diagrams, and loop drawings Control panel layouts and equipment arrangements Cable, conduit, and routing schedules Installation details, Bills of Materials (BOMs), and material take-offs Coordinate design activities with electrical, mechanical, and piping disciplines Review vendor documentation and incorporate into project designs Support project planning, scheduling, and design deliverables Perform quality checks on drawings and design documents Conduct site visits to verify existing systems and support field implementation Mentor junior designers and engineers (senior roles) Required Qualifications and Skills Experience in industrial control systems design (PLC, DCS, and instrumentation) Proficiency with AutoCAD (or similar design software) Ability to read and develop P&IDs, wiring diagrams, and control system documentation Experience designing control panels, wiring systems, and industrialmunication networks Familiarity with industrial codes, standards, and hazardous area requirements Stronganizational,munication, and teamwork skills Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities Preferred Qualifications Diploma or degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, or related discipline Experience with industrial projects in oil & gas, mining, manufacturing, or similar industries Experience with SPI (INtools), MicroStation, or 3D design tools Kledge of Safety Instrumented Systems (SIS) Field experience supporting installation,missioning, or maintenance Mentoring or leadership experience (senior roles) Experience Levels We are hiring for multiple positions ranging from intermediate to senior levels. Responsibilities and leadership expectations will vary based on experience.

COMPENSATION

Rate $50.00 - $80.00 hourly (depending on experience)
