JOB SUMMARY
Under limited supervision, designs, develops or redesigns new or existing products. Reviews customer requirements or specifications to develop and design new components or redesign existing components to improve the organization's products. Also completes reverse engineering activities as needed. Interfaces and negotiates project and engineering related issues with customers, suppliers, sales and manufacturing. Acts as a resource for less experienced professionals.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Utilizes computer-aided engineering tools, CFD and 3D CAD, to design Thermal Products including HVAC, Heat exchangers, Thermal management at component, sub-system and system levels, to create, change and issue component, system and assembly drawings. Creates product dimensioning and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T). Reviews the drawings of lower level engineers and CAD Designers/Drafters. Reviews customer's requirements and specifications for product(s) and identifies issues and changes, where appropriate. Converts customer technical requirements to detailed product requirements. Conducts design analysis on components and/or assemblies to assist in the development process by ensuring designs are cost efficient, manufacturable, and reliable. Selects and tests materials, ingredients or components that will be suitable for the product. Develops innovative ways to increase the recycling of materials and decrease the carbon footprint of manufactured products as designed. Plans and performs design engineering duties for a major project or completes projects of high complexity. Defines the technical approach to assigned projects. Communicates with other engineering personnel to coordinate interrelated design and ensure project completion. Creates project schedules and specification targets. Fabricates or coordinates fabrication initial mockup and initial test samples as needed. Creates more complex testing schedules. Documents, reviews and approves information obtained from product testing. Perfects engineering designs based upon testing results. Analyzes the results of customer warranty, manufacturing and validation test failures to redesign current products to improve performance. Composes test and technical reports. Delivers more complex presentations. Analyzes current processes, procedures and systems and makes recommendations for improvement for own job. Recommends whether or not proposed changes or improvements be implemented. Provides technical leadership to and assists in training less experienced engineers. May assign or direct their daily work. Performs other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in mechanical, other engineering or related field 5+ years of Related Experience

Excellent written and verbal communication skills and excellent presentation skills Excellent customer service skills with an ability to approach every business relationship as a partnership Excellent problem-solving skills and demonstrated ability to address customer issues and partner on resolutions Excellent analytical skills Excellent negotiation skills and an ability to resolve situations while making a point firmly and seeking a positive outcome for both sides In-depth understanding and demonstrated competency in working with computer software and mainframe applications to manipulate, analyze and reconcile data Strong knowledge of CFD and CAD, and other engineering software and databases. CCM+ and UG are preferrable. Deep theoretical understanding in CFD is needed. Ability to create, read and modify product prints Fundamental knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) Fundamental knowledge of welding, plating, die-casting, injection molding, stamping/cold forming, heat treatment process, fastener torque and other related skills Ability to effectively apply the PDCA process to identify potential process improvements Strong project management skills Kaizen mindset Ability to demonstrate creativity and ingenuity in solving problems in a timely manner Ability to transfer skills and knowledge to less experienced personnel

Annual Salary:
