Job Description
Design Engineer - III The Design Engineer position is one that will work closely with Project Managers & Engineers to generate basic and advanced calculations and create drawing sets using CAD software. Using sketches, previous drawings and/or client correspondence, you will be responsible for designing and laying out drawing sets across multiple engineering disciplines, primarily structural engineering; the Design Engineer will design their own layouts as well as utilize available Designers to create drawing sets. You will perform basic and more advanced calculations in determining the best output options. A detail-oriented person with a willingness to grow, direct others, interact with clients and take on additional responsibility is a must. Responsibilities Create engineering drawing sets using AutoCAD & Revit design software Perform basic calculations using hand calculations and computer tools Perform advanced calculations using various methods (RISA, Excel, Profis, etc.) Visit job sites as required by CEA Engineers Perform drawing review of Designer employees Aid in Designer training and growth Lead field teams in davit and anchor testing Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related field Passed Fundamentals of Engineering exam Desire to Pursue PE licensure, if not already licensed. 3-5 years Drafting experience using AutoCAD and/or Revit software 2-4 years Engineering experience Experience with RISA 3D, or similar software Knowledge of
IBC, ASCE
7 and other relevant building codes Ability to perform basic engineering calculations Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite software Ability to multi-task and provide direction High level of organization, detail-oriented
