Job Description

Join Ascent Buildings in a new role as a Manufacturing Engineer in Portland, TN! This is an onsite position , no remote. Summary In this role, you will operate innovative engineered systems and develop, coordinate, and implement sustainable manufacturing production processes. Your cross-functional team will be focused on delivering quality, safety, and operational efficiency improvements. You will develop and define concepts and manufacturing processes for all new product introductions and product enhancement programs. Job Responsibilities Design and develop processes for factory transformation projects and equipment implementation. Improve productivity, quality, equipment performance, energy consumption, and downtime reduction. Provide technical/subject matter expertise and guidance for the resolution of manufacturing process and product design problems. Serve as a resource for cause/effect investigations, statistical studies, and corrective action planning. Design manufacturing flow lines, workstation layouts, and station controls that optimize efficiency, operating costs, and product quality. Uphold manufacturing standards including; machine capability, process maps, set-ups, quality controls, tooling and fixture records, routings and cycle times. Generate work instructions, job breakdowns, and standardized work to ensure quality at the source meets product and manufacturing specifications given local needs. Partner with on-site EHS to ensure all equipment meets safety regulations compliant with OSHA. Qualifications & Experience 3-5+ years engineering experience min. in a manufacturing environment. Project Management, Process Automation and AutoCAD or similar design software experience Aptitude for mechanical / electrical applications related to equipment/processes. Communication skills to articulate voice of the customer. Ability to coach, advise and develop teammates and peers. Bachelor's degree in engineering is preferred but not required. Pre-engineered metal building knowledge is helpful. Tekla programming is very helpful. We prioritize practical experience and relevant skills. Candidates without a degree are encouraged to apply.
