Manufacturing Quality Engineer
Job Title:
Quality EngineerJob DescriptionAs a Quality Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in leading quality engineering activities throughout the product life cycle. You will ensure the highest standards of quality for our innovative products, contributing to the safety and success of military and law enforcement operations.

Responsibilities
  • Lead Quality Engineering activities throughout the product life cycle, including contract review, requirements management, design reviews, verification/validation, and release to production.
  • Initiate and drive internal Corrective Actions Requests (CARs) as required.
  • Assist Supply Chain Quality Assurance activities, including approving/auditing suppliers, conducting Source Inspections of Hardware/Software, and supporting Supplier Corrective Action Requests (SCARs).
  • Provide interface between Purchasing, Engineering, Program Management, and Manufacturing departments during the transition of new products from the design phase to production.
  • Support Program Quality Assurance activities for production programs, including First Article Inspections (FAI), Material Review Board (MRB), Change Control Board (CCB), Failure Review Board (FRB), and Work Product review and approval.
  • Manage high-priority tasks of multiple projects simultaneously in development.
  • Develop Inspection Plans and processes for Receiving and Final Inspection activities.
  • Determine Process Capability (Cpk) and defect trends based on statistical analysis.
  • Support Continuous Improvement initiatives.
Essential Skills
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or equivalent/related technical degree or experience.
  • 5+ years of Quality Engineering experience.
  • Proficiency in
ASME/ANSI Y14.5
with demonstrated ability to read mechanical drawings.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of electro-mechanical assemblies, IPC standards, and familiarity with schematics and RF Test equipment.
  • Knowledgeable in elements of Software Quality Assurance, automated MRP systems, Cause/Corrective Action systems.
  • Excellent English communication skills - written and oral.
  • Proficiency in Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems.
  • Proficiency in Requirements and Configuration Management tools.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Products.
  • Proficiency in Minitab.
Work EnvironmentThis position is set in a heavy engineering design and manufacturing environment. The company designs and manufactures all its products in-house. For the first six months, you are required to be onsite five days a week, transitioning to a hybrid schedule with some remote flexibility. The work schedule follows a 9/80 format, with mandatory onsite presence on Monday and Tuesday.

Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Germantown, MD.Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $45.00 - $74.00/hr.
