What You'll Do:
As a Project Manager/ Designer Engineer , you will help lead the delivery of complex m unicipal water and wastewater conveyance projects , from concept through detailed design, construction, and commissioning. You'll be trusted to take ownership, supported by industry leading experts, and empowered to challenge conventional approaches when better outcomes are possible.
Your responsibilities will include:
  • Planning, directing, and monitoring project scope, schedule, budget, quality, and risk across all phases of delivery.
  • Leading and mentoring multi disciplinary teams while fostering collaboration and technical excellence.
  • Building and sustaining strong, long term client relationships and contributing to business growth and work-winning efforts.
  • Providing technical leadership on conveyance projects while supporting the development of intermediate and junior staff.

You will either act as a subject matter expert or draw on the depth of Jacobs' global technical community to support the design and delivery of municipal conveyance infrastructure, including watermains, sewers, culverts, pump stations, valve chambers, and related facilities.
Your role may include:
  • Leading or contributing to engineering studies, reports, drawings, specifications, contract documents, proposals, and cost estimates
  • Serving as Engineer of Record for discipline specific deliverables
  • Providing construction administration and field engineering support, as required Here's what you'll need
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering (or related discipline, or equivalent experience)
  • Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) registration or eligibility for registration in Alberta and/or British Columbia
  • 10+ years of relevant experience working with municipal clients in engineering or project management roles
  • Strong technical design capability with excellent written and verbal communication skills related to municipal water and wastewater infrastructure Ideally, You'll Also Bring
  • Experience serving as Engineer of Record for water and wastewater conveyance infrastructure
  • Proven success managing and coordinating multi disciplinary teams on small to large, complex projects
  • Demonstrated ability to manage scope, schedule, and budget effectively
  • Experience with trenchless methodologies such as HDD, TBM, and MTBM
  • Background in condition assessment and rehabilitation projects
  • Strong technical report writing and proposal development experience
  • Familiarity with City of Calgary and/or Metro Vancouver projects, standards, and client relationships
  • Exposure to alternate delivery methods

Minimum 97,000.00
Posted Salary Range:
Upper 130,000.00 The base salary range for this position is $97,000.00 to $130,000.00. This range reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across British Columbia, Canada locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. We value collaboration and believe that in-person interactions are crucial for both our culture and client delivery. We empower employees with our hybrid working policy, allowing them to split their work week between Jacobs offices/projects and remote locations enabling them to deliver their best work.
