This full‑time role is based in Lincolnshire, IL (north of Chicago) and transitions to a hybrid schedule after 30 days . About the Role The Reman Engineer supports the Remanufacturing Program Manager by leading the technical and engineering aspects of Kubota's remanufacturing operations. The role focuses on improving remanufacturing processes, ensuring product quality, and developing technical solutions that enhance efficiency and sustainability. Candidates should bring strong expertise in diesel and gas engine systems, along with solid engineering judgment and advanced problem‑solving skills. Key Responsibilities Improve remanufacturing processes for engines and components to enhance quality, cost, and efficiency. Conduct technical evaluations of potential reman products, including core condition assessments. Develop reman specifications, Bills of Materials, and core acceptance criteria. Collaborate with core collection teams to maintain adequate core inventory levels. Design and implement testing procedures to ensure reman products meet OEM standards. Support procurement and production teams in resolving technical issues and sourcing components. Create ISO‑9001 documentation including work instructions and process flows. Lead continuous improvement initiatives using lean and Six Sigma methodologies. Provide technical training and cross‑functional support across engineering, operations, and supplier teams. Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and quality regulations. Qualifications Strong knowledge of diesel/gas engines and component systems. Proficiency with CAD and ability to interpret 2D engineering drawings. Experience with lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, and tolerance stack analysis. Excellent problem‑solving and project management skills. Familiarity with ISO standards and environmental regulations. Hands‑on manufacturing experience (CNC, welding, etc.) preferred. Microsoft Office proficiency; Power BI a plus. Education & Experience Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field (Master's preferred). 3+ years of experience in engineering, manufacturing, or remanufacturing. Work Environment & Physical Requirements Office and engine test lab environment with exposure to noise, vibration, and mechanical equipment. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform occasional bending, reaching, and standing. Use of PPE including eye/ear protection and steel‑toed shoes in designated areas. Periodic travel by car or air.
