Job Description:
Senior Manufacturing Engineer Permanent Hire Location:
Hybrid - 3x/week in Tinley Park, IL (to work in state-of-the-art labs) $110,000-$120,000 + 20% bonus + relocation pay (if required) Due to the nature of the role, no sponsorship is available for this Permanent, full-time position. As a Sr Manufacturing Engineer, you will be part of a team that is working on complex automation projects utilizing mechatronics, robots, and cobots. You will work on R D projects from design to validation, developing prototypes and one-of-a-kind manufacturing systems then integrating them into assembly lines.
JOB DESCRIPTION
Perform complex engineering assignments , apply advanced engineering principles, and conduct complex technical investigations. Plan, conduct, and manage technical portions of assigned projects; make recommendations as needed. Drive completion of all phases within the timeline and budget. Provide technical presentations , guidance, and support to internal and external customers and suppliers. Serve as an expert resource for less experienced engineers. Research, analyze, recommend, and implement new engineering practices to improve business operations and goals.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Education :
BS in Engineering (BSME, EE or MET), preferably in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or Controls Engineering.
Experience :
5-8+ years in engineering mechatronics systems, including:
Hands-on Commissioning :
Demonstrated experience taking designs from the CAD screen through physical build, wiring, plumbing, and full on-site commissioning.
Plant Floor Fluency :
Minimum of 3+ years of active, hands-on experience deploying, debugging, and commissioning custom equipment directly on a manufacturing or production floor. The ideal candidate possesses robust design fundamentals combined with a passion for getting their hands dirty, debugging hardware on the shop floor, and staying with the machine until it is fully commissioned and hitting cycle time.
Design Experience :
Experience designing custom automation fixturing, robotic End of Arm Tools (EOAT) and electromechanical equipment or systems.
Tools Experience :
CAD Design 3D (Unigraphics/Solidworks).
Automation Knowledge :
Experience putting together small-scale items with automation such as watches, medical devices, and other hand-held items.
Robotics :
Understanding robot programming with demonstrated experience in robotics & vision, ideally for small parts assembly and packaging.
