Work Location:

Aiken, SC Radiological/Nuclear Design Engineer- The Radiological / Nuclear Design Engineer supports design changes affecting shielding, contamination control, radiological monitoring, access control, and dose reduction features in a radioactive processing environment.

Duties:

Perform or support radiological design evaluations for shielding, dose, contamination control, and monitoring impacts. Review design changes for effects on access control, confinement zones, monitoring locations, and ALARA objectives. Coordinate with ventilation, structural, I&C, and process engineering to incorporate radiological design requirements. Support design reviews, hazards reviews, and readiness activities. Recommend design features that improve worker protection and reduce radiological exposure.

Education/Experience:

Bachelor's degree in Nuclear Engineering, Health Physics, Mechanical Engineering, or related field. Experience in nuclear, radiological, or shielding-related engineering work. Knowledge of radiation protection and contamination control fundamentals.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience supporting design changes in radiological or nuclear facilities. Familiarity with ALARA principles and radiation monitoring systems.
