Job Description

Manufacturing Process Engineer This role is responsible for designing, sourcing, and validating production tooling for new and existing products. The position involves developing manufacturing processes in accordance with program team specifications and customer requirements, requiring extensive collaboration with various internal departments and external suppliers.
Core Responsibilities:
Develop, implement, and enhance production processes to meet quality, throughput, and cost objectives Utilize advanced CAD skills with extensive experience in assembly modeling and sheet metal design Apply strong 2-D drawing fundamentals including creating drawings, developing tolerance stacks, and implementing optimal dimensioning schemes Design various tooling including fixtures, assembly aids, brake press tools, laser systems, and stamping dies Lead the sourcing, fabrication, and validation of tooling through coordination with internal shops and external suppliers Conduct Process FMEAs and participate in Design FMEAs with cross-functional teams Create and maintain manufacturing documentation including bills of material, labor routings, process instructions, and workflow diagrams Implement quality management system tools including process capability studies, control plans, PPAP, and statistical process control Establish production standards using work measurement techniques such as time studies and work content analysis Develop packaging solutions, material flow systems, and facility layouts for new product introductions Stay current with emerging manufacturing technologies and recommend implementation where appropriate Train team members and effectively communicate process changes across all organizational levels Apply project management methodologies to coordinate engineering resources and personnel
Additional Responsibilities:
Utilize standardized project management techniques to oversee engineering initiatives Conduct supplier assessments both domestically and internationally Operate production equipment when necessary to support process development Apply computer skills for engineering and project management tasks Demonstrate proficiency with quality analysis tools including
FMEA, Design of Experiments, and SPC Preferred Qualifications:
0-3 years of experience in an original equipment manufacturing environment Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or Manufacturing Technology/Industrial Technology Required CAD proficiency with experience in Creo or Draftsight preferred
