Chemical The Process/Project Engineer will have responsibility for improving plant processes and providing engineering support for maintenance, EH&S, and operations. The individual will also have responsibility for supervising capital projects and contractor workforces associated with these projects. The Process/Project Engineer is on site in Chattanooga, TN and reports to the Plant Manager. Responsibilities Provide process and quality support and troubleshooting for plant processes. Identify and lead continuous improvement projects with emphasis on manufacturing cost reduction, capacity improvements/cycle time reductions, energy and waste reductions, and process reliability. BFD, PFD, Mass & Energy Balance, process and equipment documentation, and P&ID preparation and updates for new and existing processes. Participate in Management of Change, Process Hazard Analysis, and Root Cause Investigations. Provide engineering, estimating, bidding and supervising capital projects. Has financial responsibility for assigned capital projects. Able to use DCS and historians to obtain data as needed to support above tasks. Physical Requirements and Environment Ability to work in a high hazard environment, including adverse weather conditions, elevated spaces, confined spaces, extreme temperatures, and noisy surroundings. Must be able to stand, walk, sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and climb stairs and ladders over 100 ft. Must be willing to wear PPE (Personal Protective equipment) including but not limited to hard hat, protective eyewear, steel-toed boots, hearing protection, Level A suit, full face respirator Required Qualifications BS in Engineering field, preferably Chemical or Mechanical 3+ years' experience in a manufacturing environment Preferred Qualifications 2+ years' experience in project management Aptitude and experience in distributive control systems Strong verbal and written communication skills at all levels within the organization Adept at training others Able to distill complex information and present clearly Organized and detail oriented, particularly with regard to maintaining records Proficient with Microsoft Office Products and SAP.
