Memphis, TN Job Details Full-time 1 day ago Qualifications 3D modeling software 3D modeling for product design 3D modeling Full Job Description The Design Engineer's responsibility is to manage the design and development of new products for the electric utility market as well as manage engineering activities related to maintaining existing products. Develop new product part and assembly designs, drawings and specifications Evaluate and recommend specifications and ensure products meet the technical and functional requirements Review and analysis of proposed product changes Perform feasibility, functional, and quality testing of designs Perform finite element analysis (FEA) and calculations Manage prototype development and testing. Facilitate creation and approval of Engineering drawing changes Recommend and follow reliable, efficient, and cost-effective procedures Write test reports for both internal use and for publication Work with other members of the engineering staff to ensure project milestones are met and that projects are completed according to established timelines Technical support for Field Sales personnel
Requirements:
BSME or equivalent 2-5 years of engineering experience in a manufacturing environment preferred Proficient with 3D modeling software (preferably SolidWorks or ProE) Understanding of manufacturing processes preferred (i.e. casting, molding, machining, forming, extruding, etc.)
