Job Description

Chipton-Ross is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer for a contract opportunity in Nashville, TN.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
(REQUIRED
SKILLS/EXPERIENCE
):
  • 2-5 years-experience with machining in same or related shop environment
  • Work well with others to promote teamwork, quality, craftsmanship and productivity
  • Must be self-directed and motivated
  • Possess good communication skills both written and verbal
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to organize, problem solve and lead a project
  • Information gathering, knowing how to find and identify essential information
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Good Personal Computer skills with knowledge of MSWord, and MSExcel
  • Interpret drawing package (blue print, parts list, etc.) for requirements
  • Operate ERP job processing system
  • Create manufacturing and assembly planning based on customer and TS-KC requirements
  • Participates in new product development meetings to review program for potential specification issues
  • Interpret specifications; Customer, Military, Federal, Material etc.
  • Assist Manufacturing and Assembly during first runs ensuring proper documentation and job closure is complete and accurate
  • Help to develop skills of those within department, assembly and manufacturing
  • Follow written QMS (Quality Management System) procedures
  • Familiar with SPC and related methods
  • Knowledge of Machine Functions (G codes, M codes, Offsets, etc.)
  • Knowledge of Assembly Techniques
  • Operate
CAD/CATIA
software for design and model evaluation applications
  • Design fixtures, jigs and gages
  • Troubleshoot problems and determine if machine or program error
  • Maintain a clean and organized working environment
  • Other tasks/duties/responsibilities as assigned
REQUIRED EDUCATION
  • Accredited Bachelor's Degree in engineering science or related degree (Other combinations of experience and education can be substituted)
