Role:
Our client, a Tier 1 automotive supplier, is seeking a skilled Manufacturing Engineer to join their team in Spring Hill, TN. This position plays a critical role in process optimization, continuous improvement initiatives, and project management within a Just-In-Time (JIT) manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong engineering background, excellent leadership skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects while ensuring safety, quality, and production goals are met.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead process improvement initiatives using lean manufacturing concepts, methods, and principles Conduct time and motion studies to identify efficiency opportunities Oversee and manage capital and expense budgets, ensuring cost-effective solutions Develop and implement operational plans while managing/coordinating internal and external project resources Maintain compliance with Health & Safety legislation and company standards Utilize SPC, AutoCAD, and manufacturing-related software to support engineering projects Collaborate cross-functionally to meet customer-specific requirements within specified timelines Support continuous improvement culture and mentor team members on best practices
Qualifications/Requirements:
University degree in Engineering, Technologist diploma in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering, or 5–7 years of engineering-related experience in an automotive JIT Tier 1 manufacturing environment, or equivalent combination of both Excellent leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills Working knowledge of lean manufacturing, continuous improvement processes, and core tools Strong understanding of time and motion studies Experience managing capital and expense budgets Proficient in operational planning with strong project management skills Knowledge of Health & Safety legislation and proficiency in Microsoft Office & manufacturing software Working knowledge of SPC and AutoCAD preferred
