What to Expect We are seeking a Systems Engineer to lead the deployment and
scale-up of high-precision sensor and actuator systems across our battery manufacturing
tool fleet. You will own end-to-end deployment workflows from hands-on
installation and validation to building diagnostics and predictive models, while
partnering closely with process, equipment, and software teams to
operationalize sensors at scale. This role sits within the GFTX Cell team,
responsible for high volume in-house cell manufacturing lines. What You'll Do
Drive continuous improvement of sensor deployment processes
using first-principles analysis and structured experimentation (DOE, root cause
analysis)
Author and maintain test specifications, calibration
procedures, and SOPs for sensor installation, qualification, and maintenance
Own failure analysis for sensor systems and collect test
data, identify root cause, and implement corrective actions
Define measurement conditions and acceptance criteria, and partner
with cross-functional teams to validate and ratify pass/fail limits
Develop software-based diagnostic toolkits and
ML/statistical predictive models to enable proactive maintenance by process and
equipment teams
Apply data-driven methods to accelerate tool-to-tool
matching and fleet-level performance uniformity (add a brief definition of
"matching" for external readers) What You'll Bring
Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Physics, or equivalent
experience
Demonstrated hands on experience and capability in
troubleshooting complex systems
2+ years ofexperience indesigning, testing and assembling
hardware
Experience of working with data from various types of
sensors (e.g., force sensors, loadcells, thermocouples, accelerometers,
etc.) and actuators (e.g., hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, etc.)
Proficiency with MATLAB or Python and data analysis
libraries such as pandas, numpy, scikit-learn or equivalent
Familiarity with controls modelling
Be able to travel to other sites 10-20% of time
Excellent teamwork/interpersonal skills, willingnessto
gain and share new knowledge and, the ability to communicate effectively
Remain engaged, proactive and positive in tough
