Manufacturing Engineer - Composites (Rotorcraft / UH-60)

Contract Position Description:
We are seeking a Manufacturing Engineer with expertise in aerospace composites and rotorcraft systems to support production operations in a high-performance manufacturing environment. This role focuses on composite main rotor blade manufacturing , including process development, bonding certification, and troubleshooting production issues. The ideal candidate brings a strong background in composites manufacturing, rotor blade systems (UH-60 preferred), and hands-on process improvement within aerospace or defense environments.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop, implement, and optimize manufacturing processes for composite rotor blade systems Design and improve production workflows, tooling, and equipment layouts Lead and support bonding processes and bond cycle certification activities Troubleshoot and resolve blade-level manufacturing defects and production issues Interpret and apply engineering drawings, technical specifications, and work instructions Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve product quality and manufacturing efficiency Ensure compliance with aerospace standards and quality requirements (AS9100 or similar) Utilize systems such as SAP and Solumina for production tracking and execution Support continuous improvement initiatives using Lean / Six Sigma methodologies
Required Skills/Education:
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, or Materials Engineering (or equivalent experience) 5+ years of experience working with composite rotor blade systems (UH-60 preferred) 3+ years of experience with bond cycle certification for composite bonding tools/processes Proven ability to troubleshoot blade-level faults in manufacturing environments Hands-on experience with SAP and Solumina Experience with component technical specifications and engineering documentation Strong understanding of composite materials, bonding processes, and aerospace manufacturing techniques
Preferred Qualifications:
