POSITION SUMMARY
The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for optimizing manufacturing processes, improving production efficiency, and driving initiatives to enhance product quality and reduce costs. This role focuses on production planning, implementing lean manufacturing principles, managing resources, and introducing new technologies to support organizational goals. The Manufacturing Engineer plays a key role in capacity expansion projects, new product design, and the seamless integration of innovative technologies into the production environment.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES
Make a personal commitment to consistently provide superior customer service to ECCO's customers so they will want to do repeat business with ECCO Manufacturing Maintain good working relationship with all co-workers and ECCO employees Read and comply with ECCO's Human Resources Policies and Procedures as well as their Health & Safety Policies and Procedures Assist in the success of ECCO's Safety Program with suggestions, by setting a good example, and by ensuring that safety is at the forefront of your actions while at work
Manufacturing Engineer Safety:
Promote a safe working environment by implementing and monitoring safety protocols. Reduce injuries by proactively conducting risk reduction changes. Investigate and address root causes for incidents to prevent recurrence.
Quality Assurance:
Establish and maintain quality standards. Implement corrective actions for production defects and monitor their effectiveness.
Production Planning & Coordination:
Work with planning team to ensure delivery deadlines are met and workflow optimized. Monitor production progress and coordinate with cross-functional teams to address any issues.
Production Efficiency:
Analyze and improve production processes to achieve target efficiency, measured by Standard Hours vs Actual Hours. Identify and eliminate bottlenecks to enhance productivity.
Lean Manufacturing Initiatives:
Lead lean manufacturing projects aimed at waste reduction, process standardization, and continuous improvement. Train and mentor team members on lean tools and methodologies.
Resource Planning & Management:
Manage personnel and allocate resources effectively to meet production targets. Collaborate with HR for staffing, training, and workforce development.
New Technology Introduction:
Research, evaluate, and integrate new manufacturing technologies to enhance productivity and quality. Develop business cases for technology adoption and oversee implementation.
Capacity Expansion Projects:
Plan and execute projects to increase manufacturing capacity, including equipment procurement and layout optimization. Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards during expansion activities.
New Product Design & Introduction:
Collaborate with R D and product design teams to ensure manufacturability of new products. Develop production processes, tooling, and documentation for new product launches. Mentor and train junior R D engineers.
Cost Management:
Analyze production costs and implement measures to achieve cost savings without compromising quality. Support budgeting and forecasting activities related to manufacturing. (Due to the dynamic nature of this Company, the duties and responsibilities may reasonably change from time to time.)
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Mechanical, Industrial, Mechatronics, 3-5 Years of experience in Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Design. Manufacturing Engineering experience across all phases of a product program (from concept planning through to execution) Proficient in data analysis programs Strong working knowledge in interpreting and producing engineering drawings.
