Job Description

The Automation Engineer designs, develops, and implements automation systems focused on manufacturing processes to improve productivity, operational efficiency, and overall performance. This role supports continuous improvement initiatives by reducing human error, optimizing processes, and integrating automated solutions while adhering to safety and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Automation System Design & Development Design, develop, configure, and implement automation systems for industrial, software, or infrastructure processes. Modify and enhance automated equipment based on operational needs and process changes. Integrate new automation solutions with existing software platforms and manufacturing infrastructure. Process Optimization & Continuous Improvement Identify opportunities for improvement within current manufacturing processes and propose automation-based solutions. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize existing processes and workflows. Validate the quality, efficiency, and performance of implemented automation systems and document results. Reporting & Documentation Develop and publish reports summarizing automation project status, performance metrics, and results for management. Maintain technical documentation related to automation systems, configurations, and improvements. Safety & Compliance Implement and enforce safety best practices in automation systems to protect employees and company assets. Ensure automation projects comply with company safety standards and operational requirements.
Education / Experience
Bachelor's degree in Mechatronics Engineering or other relevant field preferred; degree may be substituted by equivalent years of experience.
Ideal major:
Mechatronics Engineering. Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience required. Experience in automation systems strongly preferred.
Training / Certifications
PLC Programming (Allen-Bradley, Keyence). Robot Programming (Shibaura, Epson). Electrical Control Systems. Pneumatics. Skills Strong sense of urgency and accountability. Ability to work effectively in a team environment. Equipment handling and troubleshooting skills. Leadership and coordination capabilities. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications. Strong interdepartmental communication and negotiation skills. Work Environment Manufacturing and production environment. Collaboration with engineering, maintenance, and operations teams. Exposure to automated equipment, machinery, and industrial systems. Physical Demands Ability to stand, walk, and work in manufacturing areas for extended periods. Ability to perform hands-on troubleshooting and equipment adjustments as required. Ability to use standard office and engineering tools.
