Contract (Potential for Extension/Conversion) Position Overview We are seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to support the design, development, validation, and optimization of manufacturing processes and production systems. This role will be responsible for process design, equipment integration, validation activities, production layouts, and continuous improvement initiatives to ensure efficient, compliant, and high-quality manufacturing operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong engineering background, experience with process validation (IQ/OQ/PQ), manufacturing process design, system integration, and project management. Experience with Six Sigma methodologies, SPC, DOE, and Minitab is highly desirable. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Engineering required (Mechanical Engineering preferred) Experience in manufacturing engineering, process engineering, or related field Strong project management skills Experience with process validation and qualification activities (IQ, OQ, PQ) Experience with system integration and manufacturing process design Knowledge of manufacturing equipment, production processes, and facility layouts Experience with Microsoft Office applications Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills Preferred Qualifications B.S. in Mechanical Engineering (BSME) Lean Six Sigma Certification (Green Belt or Black Belt) Experience with Statistical Process Control (SPC) Design of Experiments (DOE) experience Minitab proficiency Experience in regulated manufacturing environments Key Responsibilities Design and develop manufacturing processes, procedures, and production layouts for assemblies, equipment installation, machining, processing, and material handling operations. Create and optimize facility and equipment layouts to maximize efficiency, throughput, and productivity. Lead manufacturing process validation and qualification activities, including IQ, OQ, and PQ protocols and documentation. Support system integration projects involving manufacturing equipment, tooling, and production processes. Develop manufacturing work instructions, procedures, and process documentation. Analyze production workflows and identify opportunities for process improvements and cost reductions. Evaluate machinery, equipment, and tooling performance and implement corrective actions when necessary. Incorporate inspection and testing requirements into manufacturing processes and production plans. Utilize SPC, DOE, and data analysis techniques to improve process capability and product quality. Collaborate with engineering, quality, operations, and production teams to support new product introductions and process improvements. Ensure compliance with applicable quality standards, regulatory requirements, and company procedures. Provide technical guidance regarding manufacturing methods, equipment selection, and process capabilities. Lead and support continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, quality, delivery, and cost.
