Job Description:
The SMT Engineer is responsible for supporting and improving SMT and PCBA manufacturing processes to achieve production, quality, and efficiency goals. This role focuses on process optimization, equipment performance, quality improvements, and new product introductions. Key Responsibilities Develop, implement, and optimize SMT and PCBA manufacturing processes. Support SMT operations including stencil printing, SPI, pick-and-place, reflow soldering, AOI, and soldering processes. Improve machine programming, feeder setup, line balancing, and overall equipment efficiency. Troubleshoot and resolve assembly, soldering, placement, and process-related defects. Create and maintain process documentation, work instructions, SOPs, PFMEA, control plans, and engineering change records. Lead root cause investigations and corrective actions for manufacturing and quality issues. Partner with Production, Quality, Maintenance, and Supply Chain teams to improve performance and product reliability. Support NPI activities, prototype builds, process validation, and production launches. Develop and optimize reflow profiles for leaded and lead-free soldering. Qualifications 3+ years of
SMT/PCBA
engineering experience in electronics manufacturing. Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field preferred, or equivalent experience. Strong knowledge of SMT manufacturing processes, PCB assembly, and soldering techniques. Experience with SMT equipment such as Panasonic NPM (preferred), Yamaha, Fuji, ASM, Juki, Universal, or similar platforms. Experience troubleshooting manufacturing defects and implementing corrective actions. Experience with AOI, SPI, X-ray inspection, and traceability systems is a plus.
