Job Description:
Manufacturing Test Engineer Position Summary The Manufacturing Test Engineer supports the development, implementation, optimization, and sustainment of manufacturing test systems and processes for electronic and electro-mechanical products. This role partners closely with Manufacturing, Quality, Design Engineering, and Production teams to ensure products are properly tested, validated, and released to production while driving continuous improvement in test efficiency, reliability, and yield performance.   • Reports to the Manufacturing Engineering Manager
  • No direct supervisory responsibilities Key Responsibilities
  • Develop, implement, and maintain manufacturing test processes for electronic and electro-mechanical assemblies
  • Support production troubleshooting and root cause analysis related to test failures and manufacturing defects
  • Design and validate test fixtures, test procedures, and automated/manual test stations
  • Analyze test data and identify trends to improve product quality, throughput, and manufacturing yield
  • Work closely with Design Engineering to ensure products are designed for testability (DFT) and manufacturability (DFM)
  • Support New Product Introduction (NPI) activities including process validation, pilot builds, and production readiness
  • Create and maintain manufacturing documentation including test procedures, work instructions, validation reports, and process flows
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on reducing downtime, improving first-pass yield, and optimizing test cycle times
  • Collaborate with Quality Engineering on corrective actions, CAPAs, PFMEAs, and process improvement initiatives
  • Interface with suppliers and vendors regarding test equipment, fixtures, and technical issues
  • Support engineering change orders (ECOs) and implementation of process improvements on the production floor
  • Assist with training production personnel on test procedures and troubleshooting methods Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Robotics Engineering, or related engineering discipline
  • 3+ years of manufacturing test engineering experience preferred
  • Experience supporting electronics manufacturing and/or electro-mechanical assembly environments
  • Understanding of manufacturing test methodologies, validation processes, and troubleshooting techniques
  • Experience with automated test equipment, data acquisition systems, and test fixture development
  • Knowledge of root cause analysis methodologies such as 5 Whys, Fishbone, and Pareto analysis
  • Familiarity with DFT, DFM, PFMEA, and process validation principles
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, assembly drawings, and technical documentation
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration abilities Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in aerospace, automotive, industrial, medical device, or electronics manufacturing environments
  • Exposure to PLCs, LabVIEW, Python, C++, or automation systems
  • Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems and manufacturing data analysis tools
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement methodologies
  • Knowledge of IPC standards and electronic assembly processes Work Environment
  • Fast-paced manufacturing and engineering environment
  • Hands-on support on the production floor required
  • Occasional travel may be required depending on project needs
